  • Sometimes it doesn’t take more than a little flourish of echo, that one little wah stab on the guitar or a neat little squeak from a synth to make a beat stand out – just check AD’s new EP on Citinite for proof.
If you get a whole tape bristling with moments like these, gracefully dancing through an abundance of ideas while never losing touch with the groove – then you have something special indeed. Something like the tape that got the half British, half Italian producer AD Bourke his first release on Domu’s Treble-O Records.
If you’re left with any doubts, this synth wizard won’t hesitate to unleash his magical madness in a live setting.
Your puzzled ears will have you believe you’re seeing neon fireworks.

Taking hip hop music on a higher level, infecting it with techno sliver, dub inflexions and futuristic noises: quite a complicated science to deal with, but if managed at its best it may bring to astonishing sonic outputs, perfectly balanced between groove, sensuality and sharp edges. AD Bourke (Adam Bourke the real name) is a true master in dealing with this. From the first works and experiments coming to the releases through TrebleO (label founded by the great Domu), his career is definitely in a constant rise. Year 2009 saw him sharing the stage with Flying Lotus and Daedelus at Dissonanze festival in Rome and being invited by the Red Bull Music Academy for its 2010 edition. Actually, is hard not to be seduced both by his productions and his live sets: Adam is not only a guy dealing with a bunch of softwares, he’s also an extremely skilled instrumentalist (already collaborating with Francisco and Jolly Music), quality that drives him to an utmost physical and spectacular approach even when it’s about using samplers, laptops and drum machines.
