Following the mighty ‘My Bleep’, Rekids001, Matt Radio Slave has taken somewhat of a more A&R role in his young promising label, drawing on the production talents of Roman Flugel, Jesse Rose, Toby Tobias, Prins Thomas and most recently Mr G. With four diverse-in-sound but equally high- in-quality Rekids releases in the bag, Radio Slave returns with Secret Base.
Matt, a firm favourite with a broad spectrum of DJs and producers, has built up an enviable
reputation as one of the UK’s hottest producers for the dancefloor. This is still only his second ever release under the Radio Slave guise, but with many unofficial remixes and bootlegs, plus a very strong back catalogue under Rekid and as part of Quiet Village, it’s fair to say Matt knows a thing or two about what works and what doesn’t.
With Rekid you get an all-round more soulful or jackin house sound, with Quiet Village the BPM comes down and the psychedelic disco rises to the top… With Radio Slave you can expect nothing less than maximal, sharp sounding techno that always twists and turns to make it stand out. Secret Base is exactly this. It’s big, very big and not for the faint hearted.
